About Me |
I am currently a student at the University of Yaoundé II where I am reading Private Law and also Volunteer Field Assistant working for the Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC)
As part of CAPEC Action Plan I continue to set up/enhance resource centres for community based training programmes in slum/rural communities that are equipping young people across Cameroon with skills that they are using to address the major challenges faced in their communities, namely poverty and HIV/AIDS
I have gained a wealth of knowledge through numerous local and global development initiatives; as part of the Secretariat of the NEPAD Youth Network Cameroon, Member Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS Cameroon, member of network of UNICEF Youths for the fight against HIV/AIDS, Cameroon. I have also undergone training by Swiss Association for Living Values. The programme is a collaboration partnership between the Association for Living Values Education International (ALIVE) and UNESCO-BREDA. The training provides educators with methods and skills to create values-based learning environments in which children feel respected, valued, understood, loved and safe.
I have participated in several activities organised by my association (CAPEC),such activities are leadership training, HIV/AIDS sensitisation for youths in villages, Peer Education Program etc.In all these program I was assigned a role which I successfully carried it out.
I organised a football tournament in Kumba for children of 14yrs below. In this, I demonstrated a great leadership skill. I organised three successful meetings with the Delegation of Sports and Physical Education, Coaches of the 8 teams involved in the competition, and the players. The result was very positive.
I also work with volunteers from UK, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, USA, Hungary etc. I accompany them to their work place for the first week and also help to orientate them about security measures in Cameroon and other necessary information they should know, especially the culture of the Cameroonian people
